Arne Weverling

Arne Weverling is responsible for the transition of ports and industry, the development of the maritime cluster, aviation policy, water management, and climate adaptation. In this role, he is closely involved in national and regional collaborations between government, industry, and knowledge institutions (the triple helix), particularly in the areas of unmanned aviation, the Port of Rotterdam, and the surrounding industrial clusters. Together with the Municipality of Rotterdam, he supports public-private partnerships aimed at creating an innovative, resilient, and future-proof port.

Previously, Arne served as a Member of Parliament for the VVD (2017–2021), focusing on horticulture and fisheries. Prior to that, he was a councillor and alderman in the Municipality of Westland (2009–2017). With a background in entrepreneurship, he is committed to driving sustainable innovation and economic growth in the region.
