Oonagh Mcgirr

Oonagh McGirr is the inaugural Executive Director of the WAM Foundation, a global initiative dedicated to advancing inclusive, interoperable, and trust-based microcredential ecosystems. She supports the development of scalable credentialing practices and collaborates with international leaders to promote lifelong learning, equity, and recognition across diverse sectors.

With extensive experience in tertiary education strategic leadership, vocational sector reform, and ethical governance, her recent initiatives include designing microcredential pathways for regional, industry-led infrastructure; leading capacity-building programmes for TVET master trainers in a range of global contexts; and contributing to the development of quality assurance frameworks for global recognition.
